See the Stan Herd Mural on the grain elevator, across the road from the Wilmore Community Building, home of the Wilmore Opry. Arrange a remote and romantic stay at the Mule Creek Hide-a-Way or Wildwood B & B. Explore the tiny community, then depart for a 35 minute road trip east on Hwy 160 to experience the natural beauty of the Gypsum Hills Scenic Byway, returning to witness the spectacular sunsets of the region. |

Depart Protection heading west on Hwy 160, 16 miles, turn right at Sitka Hill heading north 26 miles on Hwy 34 for a scenic drive to Bucklin. 4 miles northwest of Bucklin turn on Hwy 400 heading northwest 20 miles back to Dodge City. Enjoy the afternoon and evening in the Cowboy Capital.
